PADI Scuba Diving Courses

I offer the full range of PADI recreational scuba diving courses, from discovery dives and learning to dive, to distinctive specialities. By incorporating my knowledge of yoga, breathwork, meditation and marine conservation, I turn every course into a unique experience.

What's Special About My Courses

Using the PADI diving curriculum as the framework for my courses, I incorporate Yoga, Pranayama (yogis breathwork) and Meditation into all my courses. My focus is not on numbers or ticking off requirements for certifications. I offer you more time to complete a course, more time in the water, personal attention and patience for you to overcome any physical or mental barriers that you may experience.

Yoga

Yoga is a fantastic way to loosen up, stretch and prepare the mind & body before our dives. I teach beginner-level Sun Salutations as it helps to improve both the physical and mental aspects of the sport.

By incorporating gentle yoga into all my diving training courses, I share techniques which help us remain calm, improve our focus, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance the overall scuba diving experience.

Pranayama

Pranayama, the practice of controlling the breath, is important for scuba diving because it helps improve our air consumption and our buoyancy due to our mindful breathing rhythm.

Pranayama helps to calm the mind and reduce anxiety, which is essential for scuba diving. By focusing on the breath and regulating it, we're able to stay calm and centred underwater, even in challenging conditions.

Meditation

Meditation and visualisation are important aspects of our pre-dive routine. By incorporating mindfulness into our routine, we improve our mental focus, reduce anxiety, and enhance our overall well-being.

Scuba Diving requires a high level of mental clarity, concentration, and calmness, and meditation can help develop these qualities. By practising meditation before our training sessions, we train our minds to stay focused and calm underwater.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it.

While not an actual scuba certification, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

The Fun Part

There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It takes a little getting used to –after all, human beings weren’t designed to do that – but after a few minutes of awestruck wonder, you’ll realise how easy scuba diving really is.

You can get credit! If your Discover Scuba Diving program includes an actual scuba dive in open water, your experience may count toward PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver certification putting you a step ahead of the game.

PRACTICAL ASPECTS

Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it. Take your first breaths underwater while learning some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step.

The course consists of a dive briefing, an explanation of equipment use, and two sessions: a short dive around in shallow confined water (3m max) with completing some basic skills. Once you are comfortable, we continue with the second part in deeper water (12m max) exploring around! The length of the dive is depending on you, usually between 30 to 60 min.

Pranayama For Divers

Learn the fundamentals of Pranayama and extend your dives, safely and comfortably. If you slow down your breath with deep controlled breathing you also slow down the heart rate. To be able to dive as safely and as long as possible, the blood should be enriched with oxygen on the one hand, on the other hand, you should be completely calm, and your heartbeat should be slow. The slower your heart rate, the less oxygen you will burn. Book a 90 minute Pranayama session with me, one-on-one or in a group, online or in-person.
